It’s the final countdown
In three and a half days, I board a plane to Korea. The excitement about being in a new place is outweighing my thoughts of What was I thinking?!, but just by a hair. Mostly I’m just ready to be there and settled, finally, and be done with these weeks of packing, sorting, errands, and goodbyes. Especially the goodbyes. I still have a bunch of not-so-fun stuff to do before leaving (figure out what I’m doing with my phone, talk pharmacists into giving me a year’s worth of refills, email my accountant, pay a few more bills, etc.), but I get some great stuff in these next 80 or so hours, too. Mexican food with Anders, lunch with Ragu, visit with Schlubbs, dinner with Snacks. Friday dinner with family and Glenn, and Sunday lunch (at SFO) with Melinda, her much-anticipated fella, and my darling MB.
After all that, I get to board another plane for the 13 hour flight to Seoul, where I will enter a culture whose alphabet I don’t know, customs I’m trying to grasp, and (gluten-ful) soy sauce is king. Jet lag will be awful, and the hours at work will be long, but I’m excited about what’s ahead. 25, no kids, no mortgage, not even a car or a dog. Just me, a wonderful man, and a serious case of the travel bug. It’s got to be good. Right?

It will be great babe, but I’m with you on the “lets just get there and get the prep. over with” thing.

Beautiful site. And I cannot wait to see you and your much-anticipated fella on Sunday!
Korea doesn’t even have a clue what sort of magnificence it is about to receive…
