Happy birthday, Kidu!

Here I am with the birthday boy.  Note my new bangs. I cut them myself.  Very exciting, I know.

Hwe shiks are essentially staff dinners, when the company takes everyone out for a big meal and drinking.  Last weekend was my first, and I loved it.  It was great to be out with the other teachers, and the Korean teachers and Americans started to mingle a bit.  The pesky language barrier is really interfering with my ability to befriend the awesome and hilarious Korean faculty.

I’ll try to post more about it later, but for now, some pictures.  More in a later post.

Here we all are, sitting on the floor in the traditional style, as we eat platter after platter of amazing beef.  And kimchi.

A shot of MB grilling some of our beef.  I took this with intention of showing how large that steak was, but really, it just makes MB’s hand look freakishly large. But please note the nice marblization of the meat, and full cloves of garlic on the grill.  Yum.
